Jorge D. Reyes, M.D.
Jorge Reyes, M.D., is a board certified surgeon, UW Medicine’s chief of Transplant Surgery, medical director for Life Center Northwest, the UW’s Roger K. Giesecke Distinguished Professor in Transplant Surgery and a UW professor of Surgery and and adjunct professor of Pathology.

Dr. Reyes specializes in liver transplantation, intestinal transplantation and hepatobiliary surgery in adults and children, as well as living donor liver transplantation and split liver transplantation. His research includes transplantation tolerance and techniques and strategies for enhancing organ availability and transplant outcomes. He believes his patients should never give up hope.

Dr. Reyes earned his M.D. at the Federal University at the Federal University of Belo Horizonte, Brazil. His clinical and research interests include the study of tolerance in solid organ transplant patients, ischemia reperfusion of transplanted organs and intestine transplantation in adults and children.
Personal Interests
In his free time Dr. Reyes enjoys dressage, bonsai trees, pottery, navigation, reading, writing, and salsa dancing.
